Committees are where most of the association’s work actually happens. The annual conference, the climbing championship, the education program and the association’s finances are all run by members who volunteered a few hours a month.
You do not need decades of experience to be useful on a committee. Willingness and reliability count for more. If you are early in your career it is also one of the fastest ways to meet people across the industry.
